Now, a company called Stellamove has created a 3D printer that’s one of the first to be DC motor-powered with a position feedback control. While typical 3D printers have stepper motors, Stellamove’s, called the RAPY, uses DC motors due to their better energy efficiency, as well as their more sophisticated controls.
Combining the DC motors with a high resolution position feedback control system, RAPY’s makers call it a “truly advanced robotic system” involving “revolutionary software.”** The printer also includes features such as automatic position correction and continuous operation, and a very low failure rate. So in essence, this newest 3D printer could revolutionize the technology that’s already being called revolutionary.
